Sun Theme - Friday
Challenge Leader’s Pokemon must either be Fire type, or have one of the following abilities: Chlorophyll, Drought, Harvest, Leaf Guard, Orichalcum Pulse, Protosynthesis, Solar Power.
Welcome to the Tekko Scarlet/Violet Challenge! Here are the detailed rules for our game. Don't worry if you don't remember all of them, we'll have hard copies and QR codes available at the event that link to this page.
All matches will be in VGC doubles style. Most of us are judges and will be holding matches in the spirit of VGC, even though this is not a Play! Pokemon event.
While matches against Challenge Leaders can be attempted for any theme on any day, due to space limitations Challenge Points can only be earned for the games that are themed for that day.
Matches that are on theme for the day will be given preference on stream, as well as the higher tier matches.
For any questions not answered here, email natalie.itzelle@teamtekko.us
Trainers battle unrestricted. Challenge Leaders must follow the Regulation G ruleset with a team that meets the day’s theme.
Challenge games yield 3 points on each success, and may be repeated for additional Challenge Points (CP). CP can be used to gain advantages over the Challenge Leader, and each may be purchased as many times as you like

All pokemon required to adhere to a theme must always adhere to the theme to the best of the Challenge Leader’s ability. Pokemon qualified by their type alone must remain that type even after Terastallization (Stellar tera counts as remaining the same type) and pokemon qualified by a move, ability, or item may not willingly give up the move, ability or item. Changing type, ability, moves, or items by the challenger’s actions (eg. Soak, Skill Swap, Disable, Trick) does not disqualify the Challenge Leader, but the Challenge Leader must not cause their pokemon to lose their qualification.
Challenge Leader’s Pokemon must either be Fire type, or have one of the following abilities: Chlorophyll, Drought, Harvest, Leaf Guard, Orichalcum Pulse, Protosynthesis, Solar Power.
Challenge Leader’s Pokemon must either be Water type, or know the move Surf.
Challenge Leader’s Pokemon must not take damage from sandstorms by means of typing, ability, or item.
Doubles Play- An excellent option for a pair of younger and older trainers. One partner plays for CP, the other fights the battle. Points are awarded based on the League the battling partner is challenging, but the difficulty of challenge games may be tailored to suit the non-battling partner’s abilities
Rental Teams- We will have a Switch console preloaded with a handful of Pokemon for trainers to make a team out of. These will be Pokemon that may be obtained within the Scarlet/Violet games, and will have competitive movesets, but may have little or no training. A skilled player could successfully challenge up to the Major League using a team built only of these pokemon.
Trivia- In the case that a trainer finds the challenge games to be too difficult to complete, a trivia challenge can be substituted for any or all challenge games for the same quantity of CP that a game would yield.
