Q: Can I room with friends?
A: Yes! Pricing is based on double occupancy, but triple and quad cabins may be available upon request. Let us know your preferences when booking.
Q: What does “double occupancy” mean when booking a cruise stateroom?
A: “Double occupancy” means the stateroom is priced assuming two people will be staying in the room . Cruise fares are usually listed per person , but based on two people sharing the stateroom . So if the rate is $667 per person, the total for the room would be $1,334 for two guests.
This is different from booking a hotel, where you often pay one flat rate for the room, no matter how many people are staying (up to the room’s limit). On a cruise, each person’s fare includes not just the room, but meals, entertainment, activities, and in this case, the Tekko attendee badge — so pricing is per guest.
Q: Can I book a suite or a stateroom for more than two guests?
A: Yes! Suites and staterooms that accommodate more than two guests (triple or quad occupancy) are available but limited. Pricing and availability for these rooms vary and are not listed on the general reservation form.
To inquire about suites or larger-occupancy rooms, please call Cruise Brothers at 888-341-6651 and ask for the JCS Cruise Desk .
Hours: Mon–Fri: 9:00AM–6:00PM ET | Sat: 10:00AM–4:00PM ET
Q: What should I know if I'm traveling solo?
A: Royal Caribbean applies a single supplement for solo travelers, as cruise pricing is based on double occupancy. This means that solo guests are responsible for the full stateroom cost (equivalent to two passengers), with a small adjustment (about $140 ) since port fees, taxes, and the convention badge are already included in the per-person pricing.
If you're considering sailing solo, we strongly encourage finding a friend or family member to join you and share a room to help reduce costs.
Pricing & Payments
Q: Are the prices listed for the whole room, or per person?
A: Prices are per person , based on two people sharing a room (also known as double occupancy ). For example, if the price is listed as $667 per person, the total cost for the room would be $1,334, covering two guests.
Q: What is included in the cruise fare?
A: Your cruise fare includes lodging, most onboard dining, entertainment, access to the convention’s scheduled events, and visits to the ports of call. Taxes, fees, and a convention badge are also included.
Q: What is NOT included in the cruise fare?
A: Optional extras such as specialty dining, alcoholic beverages, sodas, Wi-Fi, excursions, gratuities, and onboard purchases are not included. The cruise fare does not cover hotel accommodations before or after the cruise, airfare, or transportation to/from the cruise port.
Q: Will there be a payment plan?
A: You can make payments toward your balance at any time before the final payment deadline of January 9, 2026 .
Q: Can I get a refund if I don’t have travel insurance?
A: The cruise is refundable up to the final payment deadline (January 9, 2026). After this date, cancellation penalties will apply, and having travel insurance can help recover some or all of your costs if you need to cancel for a covered reason.
Q: What is the cancellation policy?
A: Reservations are fully refundable until the final payment deadline of January 9, 2026. After that date, cancellation penalties will apply per Royal Caribbean and Cruise Brothers’ terms. If you have travel insurance, you may be eligible for reimbursement depending on your plan and reason for cancellation.

A: Expect anime screenings, panels, cosplay gatherings, trivia, and more! We’ll have dedicated convention spaces on board for Tekko's Tropical Voyage programming. Stay tuned for the full schedule!
Q: Is cosplay allowed on the ship?
A: Yes! Cosplay is welcome and encouraged as part of Tekko’s Tropical Voyage activities. However, please keep in mind that we are guests aboard a public cruise, so all costumes must be family-friendly , safe, and respectful of other guests onboard. Footwear is also required in all public areas. Travel Companions & Families
Q: Can I bring my kids on the cruise?
A: Tekko’s Tropical Voyage is a family-friendly event, and children are welcome to attend. However, please note that the convention programming is primarily geared toward older teens and adults, and children must be supervised at all times outside of Royal Caribbean's programs youth programs. Some areas of the ship may have age restrictions.

Please note that the Royal Babies & Tots nursery drop off (ages 6-36 months) is not available on Explorer of the Seas.
Travel Documents & Logistics
Q: Do I need a passport?
A: A passport is highly recommended , but U.S. citizens can sail with a government-issued photo ID and an original or certified copy of their birth certificate. Non-U.S. citizens should check entry requirements for the Bahamas and the U.S.
Q: When will I receive my luggage tags, and what do I do with them?
A: Luggage tags are typically available for download and printing through your Royal Caribbean online account about 30 days before sailing. Attach them to your checked bags before arriving at the port so they can be delivered to your stateroom. If you don’t have a printer, tags are available at the terminal. Consider using plastic luggage tag holders for extra durability (available online or at travel stores).
Q: Can I extend my trip before or after the cruise?
A: Absolutely! Arriving a day early is strongly recommended to help avoid potential travel delays before embarkation. We are currently exploring options for hotel blocks and ground transportation to the port , and indicating your interest during the reservation process will help us gauge demand and coordinate group options. Taka World Travel can also assist with pre- and post-cruise accommodation and other independent travel arrangements.
Q: Will there be group dining or assigned seating?
A: Tekko’s Tropical Voyage will be using My Time Dining, which offers flexible, open dining hours rather than fixed seating times. This means you can choose when you’d like to dine each evening and with whom.
If you're traveling with friends or want to dine with other attendees, we recommend coordinating directly with your group on board or selecting similar dining times through your Royal Caribbean online check-in closer to sailing.
Travel & Health Tips
Q: What if I get seasick?
A: Modern cruise ships like Explorer of the Seas are large and equipped with stabilizers, so motion is minimal, and seasickness is less common than many expect. However, if you're concerned, here are some tips:
Bring Dramamine, Bonine, or motion sickness patches just in case.
Ginger chews and green apples can help settle your stomach naturally.
Acupressure wristbands (Sea Bands) can also help.
Stay hydrated, eat light, and avoid excessive alcohol or greasy foods.
If you feel queasy, focus on the horizon, get fresh air, or rest (but don't lie down) in a stable part of the ship. The ship also has medical facilities if needed.
Q: How can I avoid unexpected phone charges while on the cruise?
A: When the ship is at sea, your phone may connect to the ship’s cellular network, which is not covered by international roaming plans and can result in very high charges . To avoid this:
Put your phone in Airplane Mode while not in port.
Use the ship’s Wi-Fi if you have a package or need to stay connected.
Check with your carrier about roaming options for use while in port but remember that these plans do not cover roaming in international waters.
Travel Protection
Q: Is travel protection required for attending Tekko's Tropical Voyage?
A: Travel insurance is not required, but it is strongly recommended to protect your trip investment.
Even the most carefully planned trip can face unexpected disruptions—like flight cancellations, illness, family emergencies, or lost baggage. Travel insurance can help cover these situations by reimbursing you for non-refundable costs such as cruise fare, hotel stays, airfare, and more.
It can also provide important coverage while you're traveling , such as emergency medical care or trip interruption assistance--especially helpful when you're out of the country.
While we hope everything goes smoothly, travel protection offers peace of mind and an extra layer of security just in case. If you'd like help with choosing the right plan, reach out to Taka World Travel for options and recommendations.
Q: What are my options for travel insurance?
A: Taka World Travel offers travel insurance through a partnered third-party insurance provider, which can cover your entire trip, including flights, pre- and post-cruise accommodations, and other travel expenses.
Royal Caribbean also offers its own insurance, but it only covers the cruise itself and any additional portions booked under them. Third-party insurance typically offers more comprehensive coverage.
Q: How can I purchase travel insurance?
A: You can purchase a plan through Taka World Travel’s partnered insurance provider, Royal Caribbean, or another third-party provider. If you’d like recommendations or assistance in selecting the best coverage for your trip, feel free to reach out to Elijah at Elijah@TakaWorldTravel.com.
