Tekko 2020 Postponed

Tekko 2020 Postponed

Dear Tekko Faithful,

Thanks again to everyone that has given their feedback and support while the situation with our business partners updated. We are excited to announce that TEKKO 2020 will be moving to the weekend of June 25-28th and it will remain at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in downtown Pittsburgh. We realize this move will come with a lot of questions and we would ask that you please be patient with us as we work to get the information that you need.

  • Hotel reservations - We are working with our partners at Experient to get all of the hotel reservation transfer best practices for the hotels within our official room block. This may translate to new links or specific phone numbers. This will come to us on a hotel by hotel basis and we will be posting these updates as we get them. For those who booked accommodations outside of the official block or via a third party vendor, reservations should be changed through the same vendor.

  • Guests - We are working with our guests and their agents to confirm their attendance at the new dates. It will take some time to recontract, but we anticipate guest announcements starting in the coming days. For those guests unable to follow us with this move, we will be looking to fill any open slots that become available.

  • Registration - We will be suspending registration tonight at 11:59 PM for a period of approximately 7-10 days to allow our team time to update the portal with the new dates as well as to provide those who have pre-registered the ability to request a transfer or a refund. We will be setting a deadline for refunds, after which all pre-registrations will be automatically migrated to the June 2020 dates. If you are already pre-registered for Tekko and planning on joining us in June 2020, you do not need to take any further action at this time.

  • Panelists - We will be sending a communication to all that have submitted, confirming that you would still like to be submitted. This communication will include anyone that previously rescinded their submission for our April dates. We have yet to decide if we will still re-open the application, but we will communicate that as soon as we know.

  • Artists - Our Artist Alley Supervisor will be reaching out to all artists who have paid for their table to provide details on transferring to the new dates. We do not anticipate that applications will be reopened at this time.

  • Vendors - All vendors will receive an email from our Vendors team in the coming days to provide details.

  • Tea Party - Please bear with us as we get updates from the event venue and our fashion guests. There are a lot of moving pieces with this event and we will strive to provide more information as soon as possible. All ticket holders should anticipate an email from our coordinator soon.

Participants in Tekko 2020 programming events, such as Masquerade, Craftsmanship Contest, Dance Competition, Idol Festival, Fashion Show, community photo meet-ups and other events, will receive emails from our coordinators soon.

We want to sincerely thank everyone for your patience as we worked through all of our options for the best steps forward. Please stay healthy and safe.

Thank you,

PittJCS Board of Directors
