COVID Policy 2023

COVID Policy 2023

Update April 27th, 2023

Based on all currently available information, our COVID-19 Policy has been updated for Tekko 2023, taking place on July 20-23, 2023.

Please note that this policy is subject to change if new information becomes available or the Allegheny County COVID-19 Community Level changes. This policy applies to all attendees, volunteer staff, exhibitors, guests, and supporters during Tekko 2023.

The following policy has been decided with the goal of reducing exposure in a way that is easily understood and maintainable by attendees, event staff, and venue staff. If you have a specific question, please feel free to email us at Board@PittJCS.org

Proof of vaccination or negative PCR test will NOT be required for entry into Tekko 2023.

If you are feeling ill or experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, we ask that you DO NOT attend Tekko 2023.

Masks are required only in specifically designated areas of the venue during Tekko 2023, these areas will be clearly marked with signage.

Masks Required:

Autograph Signings (upon guest request)

Guest Panels (upon guest request)

Formal Ball

Green rooms

Dressing rooms

While masks are only required in the areas listed above, masking is encouraged throughout the venue, especially in high traffic areas. If additional locations requiring masks are added to the list above, we will make every effort to communicate those changes as quickly and broadly as possible prior to the event.

For the areas in which masks are required, masks must fully cover your nose and mouth, must securely fit under your chin, and be visible at all times. The following do NOT satisfy masking requirements:

  • Masks with valves, cuts, holes, etc.

  • Bandanas, gaiters, or other wraps that do not fit securely under your chin.

  • Face shields.

Masks will not be provided. Please bring an appropriate mask for your time at Tekko 2023. We do recommend bringing backups for the weekend as well.

Masks for children. The current information suggests that children ages 2 and up can safely wear a mask and they will be expected to follow the same requirements in the designated areas. There are no attendance restrictions for children under the age of 2 and masks will not be required for children under the age of 2.

Cosplay helmets, Fur-heads, etc. will be permitted. They will still need to fully cover the nose, mouth and chin. If they do not, we ask that a mask is worn underneath to compensate.

Hand sanitizer stations will be available for use throughout the venue for the duration of Tekko 2023 and our venue continues to implement their DLCC Health and Safety Plan , supported by the VenueShield Environmental Hygiene Program.

Additional safety situations which have not been clarified above will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Any changes to this policy are NOT grounds for a refund. If you need to transfer your purchased badge to another person, please review these steps on Eventeny .
